Deep Thoughts
This morning I was fortunate enough to get a window seat on the train on my way to work. There is something so relaxing and peaceful about traveling on the train. I had a book with me – but found myself instead staring out the window deep in thought. It’s amazing the things that float in and out of your mind when you just let it wander. It’s a shame that the US doesn’t invest more in rail travel as an alternative to cars. We’d probably have a nation of much smarter people – what with all the additional time to think and daydream as opposed to focusing our attention on road rage and imagined offenses that require a revenge cut-off or finger flip. This is definitely one area where the Europeans have us beat!

gee, if only there was a metro out to herndon...
But Metro isn't the same. There's too many people and they are all on their cell phones blabbing, or the tourists are looking at the system maps and asking constantly "Is this our stop." I love the train (the real train)
amen - to the need for inspiration from our friends across the pond in regard to train travel
