Today, trolling the Commerce jobs website, I came across a posting for a job in my dream office. I am trying very, very hard to stay calm and realistic – that this is a glimmer of hope that might just be a mirage. It might be a posting for a slot that has already been identified for someone specific (not unheard of in government), there might be tons of people who are very interested in the spot who are WAY more qualified than I.
But still, I emailed some people I know over there to figure out whose posting it is.
And maybe, just maybe… it’s like a .05% chance but the chance is there…
Keeping my fingers crossed. Tightly.
Edited to add - well the glimmer was in fact a mirage. They have identified who they want in the position... so it isn't truly an "open position." Oh well... c'est la vie. Welcome to government land.
