So, through a strange set of circumstance, I am probably going to be in Denver, Colorado, for a week for a training class. Even stranger, there is a possibility that DH might also be in Colorado that week (albeit in Colorado Springs) for a conference.
The problem is – I know nothing about Colorado. At. All.
We were thinking of getting there a weekend early and doing something, but I have no idea what we would do. It will be April, so I have the impression that it is going to be cold, possibly snowy, so scenic mountain drives are likely out of the question.
I guess we’ll come up with something.

my friend pete says the hiking there is amazing -
But it's April - I don't do cold. If it were July, maybe I could be convinced.
I don't like self-important "hippies" who think that they are so open-minded but in reality they are just as close minded as the folks they revile.
I don't like "hippies" who think that they are being "edgy" and "keeping it real" by going to Prague, where there is a Dunkin Donuts, Body Shop, and McDonalds available on one of the town's most historic squares.
I can't stand "hippies" who act like hippies because they think that it represents a "cool, non-conformist, outside the establishment" identity, rather than actually understanding the historical and social context that created the label (see BJ and Tyler from The Amazing Race 9)
I don't believe that many true hippies exist anymore; although I think that there is an abundance of poseur hippies who adopt the persona without the substance.
I do, however, love hippos. Are there any of those in Boulder?
But it's a dry cold . . .
I can confirm there are no hippos in Boulder. Unless you count some overweight middle-aged soccer moms driving around in their Lincoln Navigators, of course.
As a friend of Dan, you are hereby entitled to all the knowledge I can impart upon you about Colorado.
Feel free to let me know how I can help.
