As many of you may know, DH and I are awaiting major renovations to our kitchen. I've been waiting and waiting and waiting forEVER for just some dates around when the work is going to start. It was my belief/understanding/assumption that since the cabinets were scheduled to be delivered on August 16, work would have to begin at least a week beforehand; since the floors, tearout, electrical, plumbing, and other assorted prep work needed to be done in advance of installing the cabinets.
I've been trying for weeks! to get a timeframe nailed down for this whole mess, thinking that this was the case. I finally called the owner of the business today and got an answer! Apparently, they don't even think about beginning work until all the cabinets have been delivered and they are sure that nothing major is missing or damaged. Well, that's a far sight more detail than I think that I have gotten thus far. And it is kind of a major relief, too. I thought that I was going crazy!
So the project that we had hoped would start in June or at least have finished by September won't start until mid-August and probably won't finish until late October (6-8 week long project). Which is fine... but I really wished that I could have known this information about two weeks ago.
Grrrrrr.
