I was looking at CNN this morning and saw this little story buried on the bottom of the page about "5 'Smart' Vacation Ideas." I looked at the five suggestions, and totally fell in love with one or two of them.
In particular, I really want to go on Earthwatch.org's possible expeditions. They have ones that I'm really interested in all over the Caribbean basin. Maybe I'll help a team assess the health of coral reefs in San Salvador (where Columbus supposedly first set foot on the New World), or help with Marine Mammal surveys in the Abacos, Bahamas. Or do manatee surveys in Belize.
I'd also like to do the cooking school thing in Florence; that sounded really neat.
