So here it is, Sunday night. I fly back to DC tomorrow morning, and then it's another two weeks before DH and I are together again. How the time flies! So sad.
At least this was a good weekend! Saturday we went snorkeling at John MacArthur Park on Singer Island. It was a gorgeous location, lots of rocks in the water for some fun snorkeling. I'm looking forward to the wintertime and kayaking in the natural estuary there. We saw lots of flying mullet in the estuary too! That afternoon, after doing DH's weekly chores (grocery shopping, etc) we relaxed by the pool for a little while.
Today we rented a bike for me and rode all over Palm Beach. We got caught in a Florida rainstorm while at the Palm Beach Inlet, got soaking wet, and once the sun came out starting sweating again. Both Saturday and Sunday we had lunch at Too Jays, a fantastic South Florida deli chain. I cannot recommend the shrimp salad enough. It's awesome. Again, we closed the afternoon with a bit of time by the pool.
Since renting a bike costs $25 every day, we found a $50 bike advertised on Craigslist and bought it. It needs some air in the tires and maybe a little WD-40 on the gears, brakes, and chain - but it's better than nothing. We can probably sell it when DH comes home for that much, so it'll be a wash.
Anyway, being down here this weekend I have walked at least 7 miles, biked about 8, and god knows how much swimming I've done.. I exercise far more here than I do at home. It's really a shame.
